**Togo, Benin Owe Nigeria $14 Million for Electricity**
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has reported that four international customers have not settled their electricity bills, amounting to $14.19 million for the first quarter of 2024. The customers include Para-SBEE and Transcorp-SBEE from Benin Republic, and Mainstream-NIGELEC and Odukpani-CEET from Togo.
The unpaid amounts are as follows:
– Para-SBEE: $3.15 million
– Transcorp-SBEE: $4.46 million
– Mainstream-NIGELEC: $1.21 million
– Odukpani-CEET: $5.36 million
In addition, no payments have been received from Nigerian bilateral customers for their cumulative invoice of ₦1.86 million. Despite these issues, some customers have made payments towards previous outstanding invoices, including $5.96 million from two international customers and ₦505.71 million from eight local customers.
