Damilola Adegbite Reveals Why Younger Men Are Now Choosing Older Women

Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has spoken about what she described as a noticeable shift in Nigeria’s dating culture, saying younger men are increasingly showing interest in older women.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the 41-year-old actress made the observation during a discussion on her YouTube channel, where she reflected on changing perceptions about age and relationships.

Adegbite noted that society has traditionally made women feel that their chances of finding romantic partners diminish after reaching a certain age. However, she suggested that this perception is gradually changing, with more younger men becoming open about their attraction to women who are older than them.

The actress observed that women in their late 30s and 40s are increasingly receiving attention from younger men, describing the development as a reversal of the traditional expectations surrounding age and dating.

Adegbite humorously referenced the biblical passage about the stone rejected by builders becoming the cornerstone, suggesting that older women who were once overlooked may now be regarded differently in the dating scene.

She said a younger man could meet a woman aged 38, 40 or 42 and confidently express his attraction to her, adding that the confidence with which some younger men approach older women can itself be attractive.

The actress’s comments highlight what she sees as changing attitudes toward age differences in relationships and the growing confidence among some younger men in pursuing older women.
