Dan Bello Blasts Gov. Bala Mohammed Over Neglect Of Education And Health Services In BauchiPopular comedian and satirist Dan Bello Galadanci has openly criticized Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for allegedly prioritizing personal projects while neglecting critical reforms in education and healthcare.

In a series of viral videos shared with DAILY POST, Galadanci claimed that despite the governor’s claims of infrastructural development, the state’s educational institutions and healthcare facilities remain in poor condition. He accused the governor of diverting funds intended for public services to finance his residence and other non-essential initiatives.

Galadanci vowed to intensify his campaign against corruption and neglect, not just in Bauchi, but across Northern Nigeria. In one of the videos posted on TikTok, he mockingly questioned how Governor Mohammed could aspire to the presidency while failing to deliver adequate healthcare and education in his own state.

In another video, he warned that if the state government did not apologize for labeling him a “liar,” he would escalate his challenges to a “Next Level.” He emphasized that the issues are not unique to Bauchi, saying, “It is all of Northern Nigeria and we cannot continue this way,” as he declared a “war on corruption” concerning education and healthcare.

Galadanci reviewed state budget performance documents from 2021 to 2024 and expressed shock at the scale of embezzlement. He noted that the budget for constructing the governor’s house had inflated from N6 billion to N13 billion, insinuating that the extra funds were misappropriated for personal use.

The comedian presented visual evidence of deteriorating hospitals and schools in Bauchi, questioning the governor’s awareness of the lives lost due to neglect in the healthcare sector.

In response to Galadanci’s allegations, the Ministry of Education dismissed his claims, accusing him of attempting to gain publicity through false statements. Commissioner Jamila Dahiru called him a “liar trying to make a name for himself.”

The Ministry issued a statement highlighting Governor Bala Mohammed’s achievements, including the adoption of various educational policies and the sponsorship of over 14,000 students for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations. They emphasized that Bauchi State has successfully integrated over 500,000 children back into the educational system and is recognized for effective education planning.

The statement also outlined the governor’s increased budget allocation for education, rising from 12% to 16%, and detailed ongoing renovations and projects aimed at improving school infrastructure. Among these are the construction of new schools and renovation of existing ones, with support from the World Bank and other initiatives.

In conclusion, while Galadanci continues to spotlight alleged corruption and neglect in Bauchi, the state government defends its record, asserting its commitment to enhancing education and healthcare in the region.
