Dantata’s Burial Delayed: Saudi Authorities Stall Final Journey Of Nigerian Billionaire

The family of the late Aminu Dantata has disclosed that delays in obtaining required approvals from Saudi authorities have stalled his burial arrangements.

Speaking to journalists, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaidu, the Secretary to the late Dantata, explained that the weekend closure of offices in Saudi Arabia has made it challenging to finalize the necessary documentation.

While Islamic tradition calls for swift burial of the deceased, Junaidu assured that efforts are ongoing to fulfill Dantata’s wish to be buried in Madina.

“We are doing our best to fulfill his final wishes, but the Saudi authorities don’t operate during weekends, which is delaying the paperwork. Fortunately, the Presidency is also stepping in to support us, and we’re hopeful that we’ll resolve everything soon,” he said.

He added that if the delay continues, the family might have no choice but to return his body to Kano for a proper burial.

Dantata passed away Friday night in Abu Dhabi. A funeral prayer in absentia was held for him in Kano on Saturday afternoon.
