Davido Is Ungrateful!’ — Gov. Aide Slams Singer Over Soso Soberekon Snub

Media aide to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Ossai Ovie Success, has criticised Nigerian music star Davido over his absence at the wedding ceremony of music executive Soso Soberekon.

Soso exchanged vows with his partner, Princess Ebiere, during a star-studded ceremony held over the weekend in Warri, Delta State.

Davido’s absence from the event quickly became a topic of discussion on social media, given his long-standing friendship and professional relationship with the music executive.

Reacting in a post on his Facebook page, Ossai described the singer as ungrateful, arguing that Soberekon had played a significant role in Davido’s career over the years.

According to him, Soso helped introduce Davido to the international music scene while also supporting and promoting him within Nigeria.

He said Davido’s failure to attend the wedding was disappointing and sent the wrong message.

“Davido is ungrateful to Soso. I am disappointed in Davido and Chioma for not attending Soso’s wedding. The fact is, Soso Soberekon has done so much for Davido over the years. Soso brought Davido to the international community and even promoted him locally,” he wrote.

Success stressed that loyalty should be reciprocal, especially during important milestones such as a wedding.

“Loyalty goes both ways, and this was the moment to show it. One of the most important moments in a man’s life is his wedding. To miss that day after everything Soso has done feels like a slap in the face.

“I expected better—gratitude and presence. Soso showed up for Davido, but Davido didn’t show up for Soso. That’s not loyalty. That’s not gratitude.

“It’s not about money, fame or a busy schedule. It’s about honouring the people who stood by you when no one else did. Missing a wedding like this sends the wrong message—that success makes you forget those who helped you rise.

“I am truly disappointed that Davido was not there,” he added.
