Davido Sets Internet Ablaze: ‘From Umbrella To Broom’ Sparks Adeleke Defection Buzz

Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, may have subtly hinted that his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, is considering dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speculation about the governor’s defection began swirling weeks ago after he and Davido paid a private visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence.

Fuel was added to the fire when Davido released a new track titled “From Umbrella to Broom”, a phrase many interpret as symbolic of a switch from PDP (represented by an umbrella) to APC (represented by a broom).

In the track, Davido appears to justify the move as a strategic step toward better governance and progress for Osun State. He referenced issues like poor electricity supply, disillusionment among the youth, and a yearning for impactful leadership.

The message, according to some listeners, is a clear endorsement of a political shift aimed at ending suffering and improving living conditions in the state.
