In 2022, when asked about his switch to the AA, the former House of Representatives member expressed that he was “hungry for service.”

Upon his return to the APC, George was warmly welcomed by the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and members of the National Working Committee at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.

While George did not address the media after his meeting with party leaders, the APC later released a statement confirming his reintegration. The statement noted, “Dr. Dawari Ibietela George, the Rivers State 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance, has returned to the progressive family. He was received today by the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and other members of the National Working Committee at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
