Speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show, Musa emphasized the role communities play in combating insurgency, noting that people in Kano were proactive in reporting suspicious activities. “In Kano, Boko Haram didn’t survive because the community knew it would affect their business. They reported any strange faces or unusual activities in their area,” Musa said.

He also mentioned the strategy of training local youths with no criminal background to help delay terrorist actions until military troops could arrive. This approach, he explained, had been successful in the North-East.

However, Musa also accused some Nigerians of sabotaging military efforts in the fight against insurgency. He cited instances where locals provided supplies and information to terrorists, hindering military operations.

He stressed the need for communities to continue resisting the influence of terrorists and called for an end to internal sabotage, warning that such actions undermine the nation’s security.
