The statement further detailed the troops’ achievements, encompassing the dismantling of 39 illegal oil refining sites, the obliteration of 72 dugout pits, the destruction of 65 wooden boats, 70 storage tanks, and 119 cooking ovens.
According to General Buba, the troops reclaimed a total of 1,247,700 litres of pilfered crude oil, 132,500 litres of illicitly refined Automotive Gas Oil, 57,450 litres of Dual Purpose Kerosene, and 800 litres of Premium Motor Spirit.
The actions of the troops resulted in preventing oil theft and sabotaging efforts, totaling an estimated value of N607.3 million.
General Buba highlighted that within the week’s operations, the troops also seized 38 assorted weapons and 186 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, a sum of N2.5 million cash was recovered.
He emphasized the military’s commitment to minimizing civilian casualties and ensuring civilian protection, underscoring its core objective of enhancing security for all Nigerians.
