Matawalle made this assertion during a dinner held in honor of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, organized by the members of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 38 Regular Course Welfare Association in Abuja.
He emphasized that the wealth of knowledge and skills accumulated during their military careers remains valuable even as they transition into civilian life.
Matawalle stressed that the nation requires their professional insights and expert advice to help tackle the numerous challenges facing the country.
He encouraged retired military officers to regularly engage in brainstorming sessions to come up with practical solutions for the country’s problems.
Matawalle assured them that the Ministry of Defence is always open to receiving them as a group of skilled thinkers to discuss defense and security matters in Nigeria.
Recognizing the significant training and experience of these distinguished individuals, he expressed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring a comfortable retirement for them and prioritizing their well-being.
The minister emphasized that advancing the nation is a collective endeavor and that Nigeria is blessed with a wealth of highly talented military officers.
