Speaking during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu said his government remains actively engaged with global partners to confront threats undermining the nation’s stability.

“Despite the political headwinds and public anxiety, we continue to engage our partners. We are engaging the world diplomatically,” the President stated.

He underscored that international cooperation remains a vital pillar of Nigeria’s security and counter-terrorism strategy.

Reassuring Nigerians, Tinubu vowed that terrorism would be decisively defeated and peace restored nationwide. He stressed that his administration remains steadfast in pursuing the Renewed Hope Agenda despite current economic and security challenges.

“I assure you all that we will defeat terrorism. The task ahead is to move forward with clarity of purpose, guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda, to build a prosperous Nigeria,” Tinubu declared.

His comments come just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump renewed threats of possible military intervention in Nigeria, suggesting that Washington might consider air strikes or ground deployment to stop what he described as the “mass killing of Christians” in the country.

Trump, who on October 31 redesignated Nigeria as a “country of particular concern,” reiterated his stance in a video message on Wednesday, accusing “radical Islamists” of orchestrating widespread violence against Christians and warning that the United States “will act” if Abuja fails to end the bloodshed.
