A one-month-old baby boy was discovered abandoned in the Osubi community within the Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, prompting a swift rescue effort. Nigerian activist Kelvin Ejumudu shared details of the incident on Monday, April 8, 2024, confirming that the child is now under the care of local authorities and will soon be transferred to the State Government’s custody.

The incident unfolded when an elderly woman noticed the infant and raised an alarm. Gratitude was expressed towards the Orerokpe Division’s Divisional Police Officer, CSP Paul Oboware, for promptly responding to the situation and ensuring the baby’s safety.

Expressing concern over the circumstances that led to the abandonment, Ejumudu emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being and security of vulnerable children. He described the rescued baby as “such a cute boy” and reiterated the necessity for ensuring proper care and support for children in need.
