Delta King Honors 12-Year-Old Hunter For Courageous Rabbit Kill

Twelve-year-old Abel Ekene was bestowed with the title of “Ogbuchai” at the palace of HRM Obi Henry Ezeagwukpo Jegbefume, the revered monarch of Akumazi Kingdom in Delta State’s Ika North East Local Government Area. As reported by the Ika Weekly Newspaper, Ekene earned this honor by successfully hunting and killing a white rabbit in the bush, a significant achievement in his community’s traditions.

In accordance with local customs, anyone who achieves such a feat is recognized by the royal father. During the ceremony on June 5, the monarch congratulated Master Abel and encouraged him to continue demonstrating exemplary behavior among his peers, while always showing respect to his parents and elders in the community.

Expressing his joy and gratitude for the recognition, Ekene promised to uphold the esteemed reputation of his family to the best of his abilities.
