Deputy Commissioner of Police Gbolahan Olugbemi Found Dead at Ogbomosho Residence The unexpected demise of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gbolahan Olugbemi has shaken Oyo State, with his lifeless body discovered in his Ogbomosho home. Olugbemi, hailing from the Lagos State police command, had traveled to Oyo for the Easter holidays, but tragically met his end in mysterious circumstances during the weekend.

Confirmation of the incident came from ASP Aminat Mayegun, spokesperson for the FCID, who assured that an investigation into Olugbemi’s death was underway. Refuting rumors of suicide, Mayegun dismissed the possibility, citing Olugbemi’s distinguished career, including his tenure as the former Personal Assistant to late DIG Israel Ajao and late CP Young Arebamen.

Sources within the police force revealed that individuals who were present at the scene when Olugbemi’s body was found would be summoned for questioning. The aim is to trace Olugbemi’s movements prior to his demise and determine who had contact with him, including possession of his mobile phones at the time of death.

Reports suggest that the 50-year-old police officer’s body was discovered alone in his spacious residence, adding to the mystery surrounding his untimely passing. Olugbemi, recognized as a United Nations medalist in Law Enforcement and Administration, had an illustrious career, serving as ADC to the late Oyo State Governor, Alao Akala, and holding key positions such as Divisional Police Officer at Ilupeju and Area Commander at Ajah in Lagos.

As investigations continue, the law enforcement community mourns the loss of one of its esteemed members, while the circumstances surrounding Olugbemi’s death raise questions that demand answers.
