Dino Melaye, the former Senator known for his affinity for luxury cars and power bikes, has recently completed the construction of an automated carport to accommodate his lavish automobile collection. Situated adjacent to his mansion, this carport currently shelters a fleet of at least 13 high-end vehicles. The project reportedly incurred an expenditure of 35 million Naira.

Prior to the establishment of this dedicated carport, Melaye had openly discussed his unconventional method of housing his cars and bikes within his living space, referring to them as integral components of his home décor. He expressed his preference for frequently rotating his vehicle assortment, likening them to pieces of furniture. In one instance, he humorously remarked, “It’s part of the furniture in the living room. They enjoy the AC I enjoy too.”

Reflecting on his peculiar choice of interior decoration, Melaye recalled instructing his architect to incorporate a car display within his living room, alongside his imaginative request for a suspended swimming pool on the second floor. His living room previously boasted the presence of elite motorcycles, including a Davidson and the renowned Hayabusa, featuring a distinctive crocodile seat.

However, with the completion of his state-of-the-art automated carport, Melaye has relocated his prized automobile collection from his living quarters to its designated abode, marking a shift in his domestic arrangement.
