The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has implemented a further reduction in the exchange rate used for computing Customs duties at the nation’s seaports. According to information sourced from the official trade portal of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Customs FX duty rate was revised downward from N1,630.159/$ to N1,544.081/$ on Monday, March 04, 2024.
This signifies a notable 5.3 percent decrease compared to the previous rate of N1,630.159/$, which was in effect as of Friday, March 2, 2024. Consequently, there has been a reduction of N86.078 on the dollar required for clearing goods at the port.
