In a post on , Momodu emphasized that disunity within the opposition could once again influence the outcome at the polls. He noted that the combination of historical experience, organizational structure, and voter momentum makes unity among opposition forces crucial.
Recalling the 2023 election, where Atiku and Obi finished second and third respectively, Momodu warned against repeating the same scenario. He praised Atiku’s resilience over the years, highlighting his ability to remain steadfast despite multiple electoral defeats.
“Buhari lost several times and even stepped back at one point, but Atiku has consistently remained close to the finish line and never gave up—that’s admirable,” Momodu said.
He continued, “Atiku and Obi finished as second and third in 2023. If they split again, Tinubu gains an instant edge. Obi has already energized his base through the ADC, while Atiku will re-energize his own supporters, leveraging the formidable structures he has been meticulously building since 1993, when he stepped aside for Chief Moshood Abiola at the SDP presidential primary in Jos.”
