In the statement, released on November 6, the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that Salisu Mustapha, the owner of the dogs involved in the attack, has been arrested. The dogs are now in police custody as discreet investigations proceed.

A viral video earlier this week showed the dogs lingering near the body of a security guard who had allegedly been mauled.
