Dollar-Naira Shock: See Today’s Exchange Rate As October 3 Trading Begins
The Nigerian naira continued to trade under pressure against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Friday, October 2, 2026, with the local currency recording a marginal movement compared with the previous trading session.
According to Bush Radio Academy, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the naira closed at ₦1,330.0965 per dollar on Friday.
The figure represents a slight change from the ₦1,329.1600 per dollar recorded on Thursday, indicating a marginal movement in the official exchange rate.
At the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, the naira was reported to have closed at around ₦1,382 to the dollar on Friday.
However, actual rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change operators and other foreign exchange dealers may differ from the official reference and parallel-market figures due to transaction margins as well as changes in dollar demand and supply.
Market participants are expected to continue monitoring foreign exchange inflows, dollar demand and policy measures by the Central Bank of Nigeria for indications of how the naira may perform in the coming days.
