Drama At APC Rally As Exhausted Portable Insists On Seeing Tinubu Before Leaving
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, for additional payment following his participation in an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Lagos.
The singer took part in campaigning and entertaining supporters at the Tinubu-Shettima rally held at Onikan Stadium, where he moved around the venue engaging attendees and participating in activities promoting the president.
However, videos circulating on social media showed Portable appearing exhausted after the event, with reports indicating that overcrowding and intense heat left him feeling unwell.
In one of the viral clips, the singer was seen lying on the floor while his manager, Babylov, attempted to persuade him to get up as they prepared to leave the stadium.
Portable, however, insisted that he wanted to meet President Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu before departing, claiming that the crowd had subjected him to considerable physical stress.
Despite acknowledging that he had already received payment for attending the rally, the singer argued that his efforts and the difficult conditions he experienced warranted additional compensation.
In the video, Portable appealed directly to the president and his son, complaining about the heat and overcrowding while insisting that he deserved more money for his participation.
The incident has generated reactions on social media, with users discussing the singer’s experience at the political gathering and his public demand for increased payment.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Portable’s appearance at the rally and subsequent appeal have drawn attention to the role of entertainers in political campaigns, particularly the expectations surrounding their participation and compensation at large public events.
