Drama At Ilorin Airport: Stowaway Caught Trying To Hide Beneath Aircraft

The individual, identified as Segun Martins, was apprehended at exactly 3:02 p.m. after breaching security and gaining unauthorised entry into the airport’s restricted airside.
According to officials, Martins was discovered beneath an Overland Airways aircraft as it prepared to taxi for takeoff.
In a statement shared on his verified account, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, revealed that the suspect attempted to hide between the plane’s tyres in a desperate effort to flee the country.
He confirmed that Martins was promptly arrested and handed over to officers of the Airport Police Command for questioning and further investigation.
Achimugu wrote: “At approximately 1502 hours, a male identified as Segun Martins gained unauthorised access to the foot of an Overland aircraft that was about to taxi for takeoff and attempted to conceal himself between the aircraft tyres.
“Ground security apprehended him immediately and handed him over to the Airport Police for further investigation.
“Mr. Segun Martins claimed he believed the aircraft was headed for the United States of America and attempted to escape by hiding on the aircraft.”
