The monarch explained that the decision was taken due to the lawmaker’s alleged lack of engagement with the palace and the community’s traditional institutions. He made the announcement in a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday.

Mudashiru, who represents the Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency and is a member of the Accord Party, was described by the monarch as having failed to maintain proper communication and accountability with the traditional leadership.

In his statement, Oba Akanbi emphasized that the Oluwo, as the traditional head of the district, commands respect and expects accountability from elected representatives within his domain.

He added that politicians representing the area are expected to provide regular updates on their activities and maintain a relationship with the palace as part of their stewardship to the people.

The monarch further stressed that, whether directly or indirectly, political office holders are serving the interests of the district and must report their activities to the traditional authority.

Reaffirming his position, the Oluwo declared that Mudashiru would no longer be permitted to enter the palace, underscoring his stance on respect and engagement with traditional institutions.
