Drama In The Skies: How ValueJet’s Fearless Female Pilot Confronted KWAM1 Over Runway Blockade

Amid the social media storm surrounding the clash between veteran Fuji icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, and ValueJet, the female pilot at the centre of the incident has been identified as Captain Oluranti Ogoyi.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Obiageli Orah, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) alleged that KWAM1 brought an alcoholic drink onboard the commercial flight, in violation of aviation regulations.

The alleged breach reportedly came after a commotion on the aircraft, said to have been triggered by KWAM1’s behaviour. As a result, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) blacklisted the Mayegun of Yorubaland for six months, while the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, insisted the singer must face consequences.

Calling the act “unacceptable,” Keyamo warned that such conduct could have ended in tragedy.

However, KWAM1, through a statement by his spokesperson, Kunle Rasheed, denied the claims, explaining that the flask in question contained only water, not alcohol, contrary to what a flight attendant alleged. He dismissed the accusations as exaggerated and misleading, insisting that he was actually the victim — a position that conflicts with FAAN’s account and widespread online narratives.

According to Legit, Captain Oluranti is the daughter of Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale, who represented Osun Central in the National Assembly from 2003 to 2007.
