The actor stressed that such characters are not for him, adding that he would never wear feminine clothing or take on roles that conflict with his personal values.
While acknowledging that there is a community that connects with such themes, Jim Iyke emphasized that his stance is final and non-negotiable.
He recalled once rejecting a script that required him to play a gay character, noting that some filmmakers introduce controversial themes to attract a wider audience.
In his words:
“I can’t roll with the gay guys, I’m sorry. I can’t wear a skirt for nobody. I salute the community, to each his own, but it’s not for me. A producer once sent me a script like that—I confronted him with a machete. The moment he saw me, he ran. I told him to keep running. Many producers want to appeal to broader audiences, but I won’t compromise my values.”
