Veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has shared a memorable encounter with her colleague, Iyabo Ojo, from the early stages of their acting careers.

Speaking in a recent online podcast, Bimbo recalled meeting a 19-year-old Iyabo Ojo—full of passion and ambition. She expressed admiration for Iyabo’s boldness and drive, traits she believed contributed to the actress’s rise to fame.

However, their relationship took a surprising turn. Bimbo revealed she felt offended after helping Iyabo land a lead role in a movie—only for Iyabo to show up pregnant, jeopardizing the project. She said the situation left her disappointed, especially since she had personally gone out of her way to secure the opportunity.

“She came to my house. She was very young. I asked what she wanted, and she said she wanted to act. She was 19 when we met,” Bimbo said. “I admired how determined she was to pursue her dream. But the story changed. She offended me after I got her a lead role—I don’t beg for roles, but I did for her. She turned up pregnant.”

In a separate development, Iyabo Ojo has addressed rumors linking her to the controversial anonymous blog, Gistlover.

There have been ongoing speculations that the actress is secretly behind the blog. But in a recent interview with comedian AY Makun, Iyabo firmly denied any connection, saying the rumors are baseless. She added that most of the blog’s posts are leaks from people close to the celebrities involved.
