Chidi, the adopted son of Nigerian billionaire Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has reacted on his TikTok page following the online buzz generated by his now-viral “next of kin” video.

Chidi stirred controversy after posting a TikTok video in which he jokingly claimed to be the billionaire’s next of kin, captioning it: “Nothing do my shoulder, I just realize say I be next of kin.”

In what appeared to be a subtle response, Obi Cubana took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with his biological first son, Alex, asserting that Alex is his true next of kin.

Cubana’s post sparked a wave of reactions online. While some social media users praised him for clarifying the issue, others felt he should have addressed it privately without drawing public attention.

Amid the backlash, Chidi has since deleted the controversial video and disabled the comment section on his TikTok account to prevent further discussion.

In a related incident, Obi Cubana recently reprimanded his son during his 50th birthday celebration in Abuja, after the boy failed to stand up and greet Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. The event, which featured prominent guests such as Kanayo O. Kanayo, Cubana Chief Priest, E-Money, Comedian AY Makun, Pastor Jerry Eze, and others, went viral after a video showed Obi Cubana correcting his son for not showing proper respect when the former Anambra Governor approached their table.
