Eradiri, who previously served as Bayelsa State Commissioner for Youths and Environment, expressed disappointment over the governor’s failure to engage key stakeholders—including the Speaker and members of the suspended House of Assembly, discontented elders, and local government chairmen aligned with him.
“I was shocked and disturbed to learn that Governor Fubara has yet to hold meaningful reconciliation talks with critical stakeholders,” Eradiri said. “Chief Wike’s recent media chat revealed much, particularly his comment that Fubara was conducting reconciliation on television and radio. That approach is superficial and undermines genuine democratic resolution.”
He urged Fubara to take full ownership of the reconciliation process and demonstrate real leadership, warning that theatrical displays and political grandstanding would only derail peace efforts.
“Fubara must put an end to the fanfare and media drama by his supporters, which only inflame tensions and deepen the crisis,” Eradiri added.
He further advised the governor to reach out to his fellow PDP governors to persuade them to withdraw the case they filed at the Supreme Court seeking an emergency rule in Rivers State under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
