As of this report, the DSS has not provided a reason for his detention, and Soyinka has been unreachable, with calls and messages to his phone going unanswered.
DSS spokesperson Peter Afunanya stated he was unaware of Soyinka’s detention. “I am not familiar with the situation and have no comments on the matter,” he said.
