In his address during the event, Governor Obaseki emphasized the importance of adhering to global best practices by documenting the achievements and policy decisions of his administration over the past eight years. He highlighted the committee’s mandate to organize and digitize all relevant documents, resolutions, and policy materials into a structured data room for easy access and continuity.

Governor Obaseki stressed the significance of this repository in preserving institutional knowledge and ensuring a seamless transition for the incoming administration. He directed the committee to compile comprehensive reports on all sectors and aspects of government interventions, accompanied by recommendations for the next administration.

The governor set a deadline of October 30, 2024, for the finalization of these reports, which will be crucial for guiding the incoming administration starting November 11, 2024, when the transition formally begins. Chairman Joseph Eboigbe affirmed the committee’s commitment to fulfilling its duties diligently within the specified timeframe.

The gubernatorial election in Edo State is scheduled for September 21, 2024, adding urgency to the preparations outlined by Governor Obaseki.
