According to a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, Edwin-Iwo previously served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of intelligence at the Force Intelligence Department at Force Headquarters in Abuja.

A native of Okrika Local Government Area in Rivers State, Edwin-Iwo holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Port-Harcourt and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and has since risen through the ranks.

His previous roles include Assistant Commissioner of Police at Bauchi State Command, Commissioner of Police for the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) at Force Headquarters in Abuja, Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos and Oyo states, and Divisional Police Officer in Bayelsa State.

Edwin-Iwo is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and has undergone extensive tactical and leadership training both in Nigeria and abroad.
