EFCC Cracks Down On Businesses Charging Local Customers In Foreign Currency
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) issues a stern warning against businesses such as hotels, schools, and others found charging local customers in dollars. According to EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, such actions will be met with legal repercussions as they contravene Nigeria’s constitutional provisions. Olukoyede emphasized that while transactions with foreigners via credit cards and dollars are permissible, conducting local business activities in foreign currency is strictly prohibited.
The EFCC has already initiated arrests in this regard and urges compliance with the law. Stay informed and avoid legal complications with the EFCC’s guidelines.
