In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale revealed that the commission’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, announced this development during a meeting with a delegation from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The delegation, led by Director General Superintendent Rabhi Abdallah, visited the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

Olukoyede explained that this initiative aims to address immigration fraud and the related reputational damage it causes to the country. The Immigration Fraud Section, established just two weeks ago, is now operational in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, and all zonal commands with embassies due to the high incidence of fraud in these areas.

He emphasized the EFCC’s commitment to combating visa and immigration scams and safeguarding both Nigerians and diplomatic missions. Olukoyede also expressed the EFCC’s willingness to collaborate with the RCMP in the ongoing fight against corruption.
