The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully apprehended five individuals believed to be involved in internet fraud. The arrests took place on February 9, 2024, in Kanshio village, Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue State, following credible intelligence pointing to their alleged participation in online offenses.
The identified suspects include Shima Francis, Ode Jesse, Odey Linus, Kingsley Obinna, and Emmanuel Inaleguwu.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered an iPhone and five Android phones from the suspects. As investigations are underway, the EFCC plans to present the case to court once all inquiries are concluded.
