The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has transferred 14 recovered assets to Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State. During a ceremony at the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, Chairman Ola Olukoyede disclosed that these assets, including real estate, radio and television equipment, and medical facilities, were forfeited to the Federal Government. This action follows an investigation initiated by the EFCC in 2007, which led to convictions related to the matter.
The decision to hand over these assets to the Enugu State Government came on the directive of President Bola Tinubu, following a request from the EFCC. This development underscores the commitment to combating financial crimes and ensuring that recovered assets benefit the affected states.
In related news, Chelsea’s recent struggles have drawn attention, with Pochettino commenting on the team’s challenges. Additionally, discussions on social practices like money spraying at parties and the impact of food inflation amid Naira appreciation continue to engage the public. Meanwhile, the EFCC has served charges to Yahaya Bello regarding an alleged N80.2bn fraud. Stay tuned for further updates.
