EFCC Set To Arraign Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Over New Corruption AllegationsBarring any unforeseen developments, former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, is scheduled to be arraigned today at the Federal High Court in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Bello is facing 19 counts of alleged money laundering, brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). His arraignment will take place before Justice Emeka Nwite, where his plea will be entered.

Although initially set for January 27 next year, sources indicate that the EFCC expedited the proceedings following Bello’s appearance before the agency. Both Bello’s legal team and the EFCC have been served with the hearing notice to ensure the arraignment proceeds smoothly.

This will mark the second time the EFCC has brought Bello to trial, as he was also arraigned on November 27 before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on charges of breach of trust. He denied the 16 charges leveled against him and requested bail to prepare his defense. Justice Maryann Anenih, presiding over that case, has scheduled a ruling on his bail application for December 10, while ordering that Bello and two co-defendants remain in EFCC custody until then.
