Eid al-Adha: Okpebholo Preaches Unity, Urges Nigerians To Embrace Spirit Of Sacrifice

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, Governor Okpebholo emphasized the spiritual depth of Eid al-Adha, describing it as a time that reflects devotion, obedience to God, and generosity.
“As we mark Eid al-Adha, we are reminded of the profound sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham),” the governor said. “This season is a call to deepen our faith, promote peace among one another, and extend kindness across religious boundaries.”
Governor Okpebholo urged Edo residents to live in unity and respect, noting that these are vital pillars for sustainable development and societal growth.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring an inclusive society where the rights and freedoms of all religious communities are respected and protected.
“My government remains focused on building an Edo where peace, progress, and prosperity are shared by all,” he affirmed.
He also encouraged Muslims to celebrate with moderation, follow safety protocols, and show compassion to the less privileged during the festive season.
“This is a moment to pray for continued peace, security, and advancement in our state and the entire nation,” Okpebholo added.
Concluding his message, the governor, on behalf of the Government and people of Edo State, wished the Muslim community a joyful and meaningful Eid celebration.
