Bashir el-Rufai recently suggested on social media that Tinubu might face electoral defeat in 2027 due to alleged underperformance. In response, APFGG, led by Malam Ibrahim Musa Bichi, criticized el-Rufai, labeling him as disrespectful and rude.

“The young man is merely echoing his father’s sentiments,” stated Bichi. “Political observers recognize Tinubu’s longstanding political machinery that has propelled Nigeria in a positive direction. There’s no justification to oppose an administration dedicated to enhancing the country.”

“We want individuals like Bashir el-Rufai to understand that true Northern voters will stand by Tinubu, acknowledging the President’s efforts through the Renewed Hope Agenda to combat insecurity and economic challenges inherited from previous governments,” the group asserted.

Questioning el-Rufai’s political ambitions, the statement challenged him to pursue a presidential ticket and directly contest against Tinubu to gauge Northern voters’ preference.
