Emotional Confession: Bishop Abioye Reveals How He Handled Wife’s HIV Status
Founder of the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly, Bishop David Abioye, has shared how his wife, Mary Abioye, was mistakenly diagnosed with HIV during the COVID-19 pandemic.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking during a church service, the clergyman revealed that subsequent medical tests later confirmed she was negative after prayers and unwavering faith in divine healing.
He recalled that the initial medical report had shown his wife as HIV positive, but he immediately rejected the result, declaring through faith that such an affliction could not touch his household. Further examinations, he said, eventually proved her completely free of the virus.
Bishop Abioye explained that his reaction stemmed from unshakable confidence in God’s healing power, emphasizing that faith must remain firm in the face of trials. He said the experience tested his belief but ended as a powerful testimony of God’s intervention.
He also taught that true healing, according to scripture, requires spiritual boldness rather than fear or negotiation.
“During COVID, they said my wife had HIV. I said, ‘No, not in this body.’ I told them, ‘Do the check-up again.’ They checked and found nothing there.
Healing is not for gentlemen — you don’t negotiate sickness; you command it to go. Some people negotiate with their problems, and that’s why they linger.
The prince of this world came to test me but found nothing.”
Bishop Abioye, who stepped down from Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) in 2024, now leads the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly.
