Emotional Photos From The Funeral Of Nollywood Legend Olu Jacobs Surface Online
The funeral service of veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs was held in Lagos on Friday, October 2, 2026, as family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers gathered to bid the legendary actor a final farewell.
The service took place at This Present House Church in Lekki, Lagos, with his wife of 40 years, veteran actress Joke Silva, in attendance alongside their sons, grandchildren, extended family members, friends and other prominent personalities.
Among those who paid tribute to the late actor was Nigerian singer Darey Art Alade, who performed his hit song “Pray For Me,” a track that featured Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, and the Lagos State First Lady, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, were also among the dignitaries present at the funeral ceremony.
During the proceedings, Jacobs’ son, Olugbenga Jacobs, presented a biography documenting the life and legacy of his father.
The funeral followed a Night of Tributes held in honour of the celebrated actor at the Glover Memorial Hall on Lagos Island on Wednesday, September 30, where colleagues, friends and admirers gathered to celebrate his remarkable contribution to the Nigerian film industry.
Olu Jacobs died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84. His death marked the end of a celebrated career that spanned several decades and established him as one of the most respected figures in Nollywood.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the funeral ceremony provided an opportunity for family members, colleagues and admirers to honour Jacobs’ life, career and enduring legacy in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
