Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has joined the curfew measures, following similar actions by Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe. Buni has imposed curfews in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru areas of Yobe.

Yusuf has declared a 24-hour curfew in Kano State to “prevent looting, vandalism, and the killing of innocent citizens.” He has instructed all security agencies in the state to enforce the curfew immediately.
