“Our brother David Kaffinetti peacefully passed away in his sleep yesterday. We are devastated by this event. RIP dear brother,” the group wrote.

Following his rise to fame in This Is Spinal Tap, Kaffinetti continued to perform with the band at several high-profile events, including a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, before eventually moving on to play with other musical groups.

Meanwhile, Nigerian football has been hit with yet another tragic loss as former Super Eagles winger, Okwuchukwu ‘Allen’ Waobikeze, also known as Babaoo, has died—just days after the passing of ex-national team goalkeeper and captain, Peter Rufai.

Renowned for his magical left foot, speed, and mesmerizing ball control, Waobikeze thrilled fans during his prime, lighting up stadiums across Nigeria.

His death was confirmed on Monday in a heartfelt Facebook post by his brother, Eli Waobikeze, who shared the sad news with friends and followers.

Although Waobikeze had limited appearances for the Super Eagles due to fierce competition, he became a standout star in Nigeria’s domestic league, earning a loyal fanbase while playing for top-tier clubs such as Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, BCC Lions of Gboko, and Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now known as Heartland FC).
