The statement, signed by National Chairman Olotu Wanemi, Secretary Clement Wodo, National Spokesman Ibena Salvation, and others, addressed a publication by self-appointed Chairmen of the Phase 2 Ex-Agitators Forum. The publication claimed that Delta, Edo, and Bayelsa State ex-militants were petitioning the federal government and threatening to shut down Utorogu Gas Plant over the alleged hijack of funds.
The leaders of the Phase 2 Ex-agitators PAP Forum clarified that the Presidential Amnesty Initiative operates with a well-structured leadership organogram, and no camp in Bayelsa State had received, collected, or hijacked the claimed sum of N320 million. They deemed the publication spurious, misleading, and vexatious, demanding a refutation from the authors within one week, or legal action would be pursued.
Furthermore, the statement urged the security and intelligence community to take the threat of shutting down Utorogu Gas Plant seriously. They called for swift identification and apprehension of those responsible, emphasizing the need for the full weight of the law to be applied against individuals notorious for destructive and diabolic activities against the Nigerian State.
