Ex-Police Officers March In Abuja Over Unpaid Pensions (Video)

A group of retired officers from the Nigeria Police Force has gathered in Abuja, the capital city, to protest against the non-payment of their pensions. The officers, who are part of the contributory pension scheme, carried placards detailing the hardships they are facing due to the delayed payments. They represent various state chapters and voiced their grievances over the difficulties caused by the failure of PENCOM to disburse their entitlements. The retirees are urging the Federal Government to exclude them from the contributory pension scheme. Meanwhile, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has disclosed the reason behind his refusal to accept bribes, citing his princely lineage and moral convictions. He emphasized that taking bribes is against his principles and has dire consequences for others. Adejobi’s remarks came in response to a question posed by a social media user, where he reaffirmed his commitment to integrity and righteousness.
