Meanwhile, El-Rufai confirmed that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has summoned him for questioning.

In a post on his account on Friday, the former governor stated that he received an invitation letter from the ICPC on Thursday, 12th February, around 4:30 pm, requesting his appearance the following day, Friday, 13th February.

El-Rufai noted that his lawyer had responded to the commission, confirming that he would honor their invitation on Wednesday, 18th February, 2026.
