Explosive Ambush: Boko Haram Kills 4, Injures 10 In Borno Vehicle Bombing

Borno State witnessed another tragedy on Wednesday as a passenger vehicle hit a suspected Boko Haram-planted IED, leaving four people dead and ten others injured.

Borno State was rocked by yet another deadly explosion on Wednesday after a Suzuki pick-up ferrying passengers to Maiduguri hit a roadside bomb, suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists. The blast, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. on the Damboa–Maiduguri road, killed four individuals and injured ten others.

Borno Police spokesperson ASP Nahum Daso confirmed the attack, noting that the wounded have been rushed to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri for urgent care.

“Yes, the incident happened. Four people lost their lives and 10 were injured,” Daso told The Guardian.

The explosion brought traffic to a standstill along the highway, with emergency responders and security operatives scrambling to manage the chaotic aftermath.

This marks the second such attack in less than a week. Last Friday, a suicide bomber—believed to be affiliated with Boko Haram—struck a packed fish market in Konduga Local Government Area, killing 12 and injuring 18.

Security operatives revealed the attacker had slipped into the market disguised as an ordinary shopper before triggering the deadly device at a popular gathering spot.
