not to disregard the allegations of financial misconduct against Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, by the Zamfara State government.
The state government recently accused the minister of failing to provide an account for the utilization of N6.7 billion out of the N11 billion allocated for the Gusau International Cargo Airport.
In response to this development, the Civil Society Advocacy Groups for Accountability and Probity urged President Tinubu to suspend the minister from his position until he is cleared of the accusations.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the group’s national coordinator, Comrade Danesi Momoh, called on the EFCC to intervene and ensure that Matawalle and any associates involved in the alleged misappropriation of public funds are held accountable.
Momoh emphasized that recovering these funds would contribute to the state’s development, particularly in the aftermath of devastating bandit attacks and the resulting poverty experienced by the populace.
