Fake Alert: NNPCL Debunks Viral Port Harcourt Refinery Recruitment Notice

In a statement released by Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, it was emphasized that there is no ongoing recruitment specific to the Port Harcourt Refinery. The company clarified that recruitment for all NNPCL operations, including PHRC, was carried out last year.

Successful candidates from the Computer-Based Aptitude Test conducted during that recruitment process are set to proceed to the interview stage this week.

“The recruitment link being shared on various online platforms is a scam orchestrated by fraudsters attempting to exploit the recent revamp of the Port Harcourt Refinery to deceive unsuspecting individuals with a fake recruitment announcement,” the statement read.

NNPCL warned the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to such schemes.

Meanwhile, former presidential spokesman Doyin Okupe reflected on his past skepticism regarding NNPCL’s potential to deliver results. He revealed that he and former President Olusegun Obasanjo doubted the corporation’s ability to achieve meaningful progress.

In a statement commemorating NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari’s 60th birthday, Okupe expressed admiration for Kyari’s leadership and apologized for his earlier doubts.

“I write today with deep humility and genuine admiration for the remarkable achievements of Mr. Mele Kyari as he marks his 60th birthday,” Okupe stated. “It is no secret that I, along with many others, was once a vocal critic of NNPCL and its leadership. Like my former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, I believed nothing positive could come from NNPCL and openly expressed skepticism about its ability to deliver.

“At the time, I was dismissive of Mr. Mele Kyari’s leadership and even laughed at the idea of NNPCL’s creation. Today, I regret those views and commend him for the outstanding strides he has made in transforming the corporation.”
