In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Ibrahim Alli, Oba Akanbi challenged anyone with proof of the alleged kidnapping to come forward. He cautioned against spreading false information that could create panic among residents and travelers.

“The report of a bandit attack along the Iwo-Osogbo Road yesterday is completely false. It is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of the route. Osun State remains peaceful, and no fake news should be allowed to spread,” the statement read.

The Oluwo further reassured residents that Iwo is secure under his reign and pledged personal intervention should any threat arise. He also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and collaborate with security agencies tasked with safeguarding lives and property.
