Family Home Under Fire! Nataro Cries Out Over Alleged Demolition Plot By Governor Idris

Salihu Nataro, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, has accused Governor Nasir Idris of engaging in a campaign of political vendetta.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Nataro alleged that the governor is plotting to demolish his family residence in Jega Local Government Area, supposedly in retaliation for his outspoken criticism of the administration. He linked the move to speculations about his potential defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), along with other APC leaders such as former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
Speaking to journalists over the weekend, Nataro said: “Although the defection rumours are still speculative, the governor has begun treating political opponents as adversaries based on mere hearsay.”
He claimed that his ancestral home—an iconic property built by the early rulers of Jega and inherited from his father—has been marked for demolition without any valid justification.
“This house is part of Jega’s heritage. It was constructed by the Ali Jangwarzo dynasty, which played a significant role in Usman Danfodio’s historic journey to Sokoto,” Nataro added.
He insisted his criticisms were rooted in concern for the people, stressing the need for government projects that promote human capital development and bring tangible economic benefits.
Nataro also questioned the credibility of a proposed road expansion project allegedly being used as a pretext for the demolition. He pointed out that the project was not listed in the 2025 budget and lacked fundamental elements such as environmental impact assessments and a clear compensation plan.
“If compensation is part of the plan, when were the valuations carried out, and by whom? Nobody has seen the design or survey documents,” he queried.
