Fatal Accident: 14 Worshipers Killed As Truck Goes Out Of Control In Kano

In a tragic incident on Friday, a building collapse in Dorayi Babba, Gwale Local Government area of Kano State resulted in the deaths of the building owner, his child, and several construction workers.

Reports indicate that the collapse occurred during early morning rainfall, affecting those inside the building and nearby pedestrians seeking shelter. Eight individuals, including construction workers and passersby, sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.

Meanwhile, in another unfortunate event along the Zaria – Kano highway at Imawa town, Kura Local Government area, a moving truck lost control and tragically killed at least 14 worshippers. The worshippers were returning from the Juma’at mosque after observing the Friday prayers when the truck collided with them.

Confirming the incident, CC Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Kano Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and noted that several others sustained injuries of varying degrees. He emphasized the need for strict adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.

Efforts are underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding both the building collapse and the tragic road accident.
